When this cat, named Bart, was struck by a car when he was a year and a half old, he appeared to have died at the time, and those who tried to aid him assumed he had perished in the dramatic accident and buried him.
However, the cat was discovered alive in a neighbor’s yard five days later. It was incredible that he was still alive.
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB) reported on its website, “He had dug himself out of the grave and was slowly making his way home, albeit weak, dehydrated, and in need of medical treatment.”
When Bart returned, he was in critical condition and was sent to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, where he received immediate treatment for a shattered jaw, open wounds on his face, and an eye that doctors were unable to save.
While Bart was healing, the health center looked into his background to learn more about his family and why he was buried.
Everyone was surprised to see Bart making quick progress and taking his first meal just days after beginning his rehabilitation process.
Bart woke up and meowed to the health center personnel a week later, and he began to have a healthy appetite, and everyone was quite happy of his development.
Bart was always very conscientious about taking his prescriptions, which aided his recuperation much. Without a question, his determination to live has been strong.
“He was washing himself and lots of meows and caressing for us when we went to visit him,” HSTB said.
Bart began using his litter box without issue a few weeks later, spending a few days in the sun and enjoying the company, care, and attention of the HSTB staff and volunteers.
“He is a courageous, cheerful, goofy, and lovable feline that meets us with great excitement every day and makes us laugh with his clumsy style of leaping on our laptops and attempting to eat our food,” said HSTB.
Bart was adopted and now lives with a family who lavishes him with affection.
This cat was ran over and fled to seek new opportunities.
