When a Canadian traveler, Meagan Penman, discovered this poor dog dragging his paralyzed paws on a beach in Thailand, she immediately knew she had to help him, even if it would cost him dearly. Thus begins the beautiful and promising story of Leo, a puppy left paralyzed due to mistreatment, a dog who became a stray and was brought to Canada.
Leo is a cheerful and affectionate puppy who unfortunately fell in with the wrong human. The people of the neighborhood knew Leo well and also his terrible owner: “we often saw the man kicking the puppy when he tried to get him into the house” a local woman told Meagan. But they didn’t think he would go that far.
It is estimated that this little one could not have survived more than a month on its own. When Penman learned that there was no place in the dog rescue centers in Thailand, he decided to take him home. “I found this little dog on a beach in Thailand dragging his paralyzed body around, confused and scared.” “I couldn’t find any organizations in Thailand that would accept him, so I decided to bring him back to Canada,” Meagan Penman wrote.
Here Leo is waiting to receive initial treatment at a vet’s clinic in Thailand. Leo has a broken spine and, unfortunately, he will never walk again.
“Two months later he was ready to go!”
Here it is in its new temporary home!
Meagan needed to find a new permanent home for Leo.
With those cute puppy dog eyes, it didn’t take long.
Leo also requires various operations to resolve various problems one of which involves the urinary tract.
This little one will have to wear diapers like these until his urinary problems are resolved.
Jamie, pictured with Leo, has agreed to become his new foster mother!
“Leo is finally able to walk again with the help of a wheelchair. He loves her! ”
